Speaking of What the Real Revolution Will Look Like....

Check out this anonymous message posted at nostate: A Declaration of Separation.

We do not seek to overthrow anything. We do not seek to control anything. We merely wish to be left alone.

All we ever wanted was to live in peace with our friends and neighbors. For a long, long time we bore insults to our liberty; we took blows, we did what we could to avoid injury and we worked through the system to get the offenses to stop. That has now changed.

....

Just in case you were feeling lonely....

who knows about pgp--I read about it, but don't quite "get it"
does the person at the other end need to have the same key to unlock as the sender?

It's a bit confusing, yeah.

Basically, you have a public key and a private key. Anyone can use your public key to encrypt something so strongly that it will be basically impossible to decrypt it without your private key (which, of course, unless you're a complete fool you've kept private.) Thus, only you can read it.

The same technology can also be used to authenticate a source, though I'm not sure exactly how that works to be honest.

I thought it was good to a point. And your comment vastly superior. It is unrealistic to even fantasize about a new world today with everything in a state of collapse creating hyper-urgency, hyper-crime and hyper-paranoia. On the other hand, it IS realistic today to attend to our own survival as many are already doing and governing themselves with the golden rule.
The piece suggested they plan on working through the internet. That part is nonsense.
Networking on the net is entertainment to keep the people placated while doing nothing. Its just an advanced electronic babysitter keeping tabs while the Illusion gorges on the planet.

Well ... we'll see. Certainly the net won't be around forever, but I have a feeling it won't be replaced by just nothing. It's role for many is just as you say, and yet, I've noticed a difference between internet people and TV people that seem to go to the very heart of how they think and sometimes, with some people, it's as though it's training wheels for ... something more. Global telepathy, perhaps? Who knows.

At any rate, as the net falls apart its replacement will take shape (in fact, I think it already is, and though it is in very early stages compared to what may be possible, time is certainly taking on a logarithmic quality ... my, look at me, sounding just like a singularitarian), just as seeds are already planted to grow forests in the ruins of the prison world.

Well. I can certainly see your frustration with the net. You're growing, as are we all, and getting impatient with the old tools.

Thanks for stopping by!
